Our Mission

Recognize is on a quest to build a real-ass narrative about women’s sports.

Today, girls and women in sports receive only 4% of all sports media coverage, significantly less investment, and a barrage of messages telling them they’re not important or don’t belong in the game.

We’re tired of excuses and lazy, generic coverage. We’re tired of trying to find our favorite sports and athletes on a bootleg streaming service instead of on major networks. We’re tired of JV losers trolling world class athletes in their Twitter mentions.

Mostly, we’re tired of waiting around.

We’re here to change the damn game.

Current Projects

The 135 Challenge

Kelaine is training for the Badwater 135, an extreme 135-mile ultramarathon across the heat & hills of Death Valley, California.

For the 135 days leading up to the race, we’ll share a blog post featuring a key woman in sports today, why you should know her, and a little bit about how she fits into the sports narrative.

Recognize Podcast

We’re currently recording a 10 episode series exploring many challenges facing women's sports today.

We’ll talk with athletes, reporters, and experts on everything from how & why media coverage is so bad, gender marketing, women athletes as "inspiration porn," activism, beauty standards, and more.

If you’re with us, stay with us.

Check out the 135 Challenge, where Kelaine spotlights 135 women athletes over 135 days, while training for a 135-mile footrace across Death Valley.
