Athletic Accomplishments

Jordan Chiles is an elite gymnast, competing for her spot on the 2021 U.S. Olympic national team. She’s been a part of USA gymnastics since 2013, making her senior team debut in 2017 where she placed second all-around at the U.S. National Gymnastics Championships.

In 2018, she competed at the Pacific Rim Championships, where she helped the U.S. team win gold, and took home individual gold medals in vault and floor, and a bronze on beam. In the same year, she also won silver for vault at the 2018 U.S. National Championships.

In 2021, Chiles is coming on strong. She traveled to the inaugural Winter Cup in February, where she won the all-around title with a 57.050 score. She also placed first on vault and floor, and second on balance beam.

The Dreamer
Jordan Chiles has been dreaming of going to the Olympics for her entire life. After an amazing performance at the 2021 Winter Cup, it looks like she may have her shot.

Chiles has sacrificed a lot to give herself the best opportunity to make the Olympic team, training upwards of 30 hours a week while going to school full-time. And when Chiles’s former coach told her that he couldn’t take her any further, he encouraged her to find a new gym that could help her reach her full potential. So she moved—from Seattle to Houston—to coaches Laurent and Cecille Landi and becoming training partners with legendary Simone Biles.

Nothing is guaranteed. But Chiles wants it bad, and is doing all the right things to get herself to Tokyo this summer. Will she make the cut at Olympic qualifiers on June 24th? We’ll all be watching.
